San Diego’s new Landscape Transformation Program has increased their incentives as of yesterday! Residents in San Diego County can now receive $2.75/square foot for replacing or upgrading turf with the sustainable landscaping features.

After the success of the Water Authority’s Sustainable Landscape Program in October of 2016, which offered $1.75/square foot towards project costs for upgrading as much as 3,000 square feet of turf, San Diego County Water decided to build on the program. The program in 2016 helped over 175 homeowners save water, reduce stormwater runoff, and lessen green waste! To qualify for MWD’s Landscape Transformation Program you must meet the requirements of grass removal, irrigation modification and water retention or filtration to support reuse or soil absorption of rainwater.  In addition, eligible projects must remove between 250 and 1,500 square feet in the property's front yard.
