How long after I move out of a rental does my landlord have to return my deposit?

In California, a landlord has 21 days from the date you are considered legally vacated from your home to return your deposit.

The landlord can take up to $250 out of the deposit without providing receipts to the tenant.  Any deposit deduction exceeding $250 requires itemized receipts for any deductions.  For more information, please contact Coronado Island Realty at (619) 435-0145.
