Friday Favorites: Irish Bars

You'd be forgiven if Irish culture isn't the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about San Diego. Given our southern neighbors, America's Finest City is probably more associated with tacos al pastor than corned beef & cabbage. And that's understandable. But March 17 is St. Patrick's Day, a day when everyone gets to pretend they're Irish. As such, you should celebrate in appropriate fashion: with a cold pint of beer and good company.

9/11 - 15 Years Later

September 11, 2016

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years since our country was shaken to its core on September 11, 2001.  In fact, it’s hard to put into words how this anniversary feels.  Yet the one feeling that rises above is pride.  I’m proud to be an American.  I’m proud to be a Coronadoan.  Our country may be in the middle of historic turmoil, but when I look down Orange Avenue, or out at the beach, all I see is a quintessential American small-town.  Our patriotism is second to none, and I’m proud of that.  Our troops are our heros, and we are lucky that the military calls our town home.
